Paul Crawford grew up on Islandmagee.  He has kept sheep for over 30 years, currently running just under 100 Dorsets.  He graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 1998 and after 20 years in clinical practice he has recently started a PhD.

The PhD, funded by DAERA, and through Harper Adams University is tasked to investigate on farm interventions that could improve stewardship of medicine use in the Norther Ireland Sheep Flock.

A range of activities are planned for the next 2 years to gather information about what medicines are used, why and how what interventions can improve stewardship of medicines.  The programme is looking wider than antibiotics and is focused on improving stewardship rather than simply reducing use.

The first activity is a questionnaire which will look at sheep scab.  This survey is applicable to ALL sheep owners regardless of your flock's scab history and will take you approximately 15 minutes to complete. Although the survey is online if you cannot access it please call Paul on 07870947791 and we will arrange for your survey responses to be taken over the 'phone.

The survey can be accessed here
