AgriSearch seeks to appoint one representative to each of its three sectoral advisory committees.

 

Independent Farmer Representatives

(Dairy, Beef and Sheep Advisory Committees)

The above persons should be actively involved in farming in the relevant sector.

They should have a keen interest in both the local and wider agricultural industry.

The AgriSearch Advisory Committees meet around four times per year.  They develop ideas for new research and review research proposals. By selecting research of practical benefit to farmers the advisory committees play an important part in keeping NI agriculture competitive. Advisory Committee members are paid travelling expenses to attend meetings. The closing date for applications is 21st October 2011.

Role Sepcification:

The AgriSearch Dairy Advisory Committee meets approximately 4 times per year.
The role of a committee member will entail you:

• Work as a committee with research organisations to develop possible research topics relevant to the local NI dairy sector
• To review current research proposals from research organisations
• Recommend proposals to the Board of Trustees for funding
• A committee member will serve for a term of three years up to a maximum of three terms
• Travel expenses will be paid to attend meetings
